Suggestions for the bas-relief
In Featherston’s twin town, Messines, Belgium, there is a small plaza in the town centre that has been cobbled with paving stones in the shape of New Zealand. The one location marked on the map is Featherston. Perhaps we could include a ‘nod’ to our twin town somehow on the relief. A coat of arms or similar icon could be used. Maybe we could inlay a column with some small bronze artefact created specifically in Messines itself and sent over to be included.
